I work with youth and adults facing in major life transition such as divorce, parenting, step-parenting, break-ups, career changes, major family role changes, recovering after traumatic experiences, and more. My own lived experiences, plus years of professional practice in mental, emotional, and behavioral health have brought me around the moon and back, and ready to sit with you in the good, bad, and ugly, and then gently guide you in sorting your way to stability.

Interested in inviting horses into your healing journey? Reach out to consult about an equine assisted psychotherapy intensive.

Horses have capacity for being in the present and mindful far beyond what most humans could ever recognized. They are attuned to their herd and their surroundings, are ever-present, and have the capacity to reflect back to us our own emotion and whether we are being truly congruent in our hearts and minds.

EAP is primarily done from the ground (non-riding), as the focus is on being present and connected rather than learning skills for riding. Sessions may be simply sitting in chairs next to the horses and benefiting from their presence while we engage in talk-based therapies, or naturally flow into grooming the horses or taking them on a walk-and-talk.

EAP may be especially helpful for those experiencing:

  • Difficulties adjusting to major life transitions
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Grief

I am also very interested in working with individuals who have their own horses and are experiencing anxiety or trauma symptoms that are looking to move past blocks preventing them from engaging with their horses as they once did or hope to do.

EAP sessions can be scheduled as weekly/bi-weekly, one-hour sessions, or as an intensive format (for example, as 3 hours in one sitting). It is important to check with your insurance beforehand, as many policies only cover one hour per day of a session, requiring the remaining balance to be paid out-of-pocket.

For your privacy and security, please do not disclose sensitive personal details in any emails.

Rates

My full fee is $140 per 55 minute session.
